AI has changed a lot in the world over the past year. One thing that has not changed is the questions consumers have about real estate. These same 5 questions are always at the top of every list, year after year. What has changed over the past year is where consumers are going to get the answers. Gemini, ChatGPT, and many other AI search engines are becoming more and more commonly used as the go-to sources for information. So naturally, these platforms will also be where consumers go for their real estate questions.

There is nothing wrong with starting your search online with AI. It is a natural progression of how we as humans use tools. Simply put, we make tools to make things easier. No different than using a nail gun vs a Hammer. Here is where the tricky part comes in. A nail gun is not a total replacement for a hammer. You are not using the end of a nail gun to slam into a 2×4 to move a wall over 1/4″. This just means use the tools for what you can, but do not become dependent on the tool as a full replacement.

AI is lazy; that is not a bad thing. It just gives you the most readily available, simplest information first. WHY? Because that is a great place to start. If you ask a simple question and want a simple answer, and then AI gives you 30 paragraphs of in-depth information to have to spend 30 minutes reading (you will not do it) lol. AI knows this. AI gives you a simple headline-driven search answer to your common question. Then, if you want more in-depth information, it will generate that for you.

The difference between AI and speaking to a professional is (Understanding). AI does not need to understand your situation to give you raw data. It just has to understand the question. What we want to do is understand (WHY) you are asking the question. Many people in the past have asked me why knowing the situation matters. Well, simply put, I do not want to give you 30 paragraphs of information you care nothing about. Every person on earth has one precious resource. It is your time. So the quality of the questions I ask and the information I provide should take that into account.

Long story short. Do your basic homework with your AI tools. Then come armed with knowledge to have a conversation with a professional who wants to know about your situation.

We are always here to help. We are always open. We care about your situation.
